Rochester, NY, July 30, 2009 — ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) announced that Rob Mitrevski, vice president and director for Commercial & Space Sciences within ITT's Space Systems business, will be participating as a panelist for the Forum on Earth Observations III today in Washington, D.C. The forum is the third in a series for The Environmental Information Revolution that addresses the impacts of climate change in matters like U.S. agriculture and transportation infrastructure. ITT is an executive level member of The Alliance for Earth Observations, and will be participating as a solutions sponsor at this forum. ITT has invested millions in internal research to become a prime solutions provider in efforts to better understand the effects of climate change. As part of the Active Sensing of CO2 Emissions over Nights, Days and Seasons (ASCENDS) program, ITT was recently chosen by NASA to design and develop a set of instruments to measure carbon dioxide from air and space. "As questions continue to arise surrounding the climate changes in our society, ITT will work to develop technology that can provide answers," said Mitrevski. "The affects of climate change through carbon dioxide have the potential to impact countless sectors in our society, and we need to strategize how to stabilize these gas levels in the atmosphere. Mitrevski, who is based in ITT's offices in Fort Wayne, Ind., has previously been on panels in Washington D.C. and Europe, and recently led a climate control panel of experts and advisors from NASA, the U.S. government and others in a discussion at last month's Paris Air Show suggesting the need for a comprehensive monitoring system for carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions. He will address financing the environmental information revolution at the upcoming forum.
