Rochester, NY, February 19, 2009 — ITT Space Systems Division announced that Tommy Brazie, vice president and director of space control and missile defense, will be inducted into the Purdue University Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Hall of Fame in April 2009. A retired military officer, Brazie held a series of leadership positions in U.S. Air Force space acquisition and operations at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and the Space and Missiles Center. He was the space architect for a series of NRO programs, as well as the ground architect for another set of NRO satellite programs. Additionally, he has been assigned to special operations, satellite field operations, Air Staff (AF/XOX), and HQ Air Force Systems Command. He has earned the Master Space, Senior Missile, and Master Acquisition badges and is a designated Joint Service Officer. Brazie earned a BS degree from Purdue, and was also a distinguished graduate of the Purdue ROTC program, which boasts the largest Air Force and Navy ROTC programs in the world. Early in his career, Brazie was the Junior Officer of the Year for all of Air Force Systems Command. He has since received numerous military awards in his career including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC). He has also been the recipient of the NASA Group Achievement Award and BAE Systems Chairman Award for Innovation.
