Rochester, NY, January 7, 2009 — ITT Corporation announced that Edward M. Morris has joined ITT Space Systems Division as executive director of strategic business development. He will be responsible for strategic program and business development of GPS navigation systems and additional space-related capabilities, focusing on establishing client relationships and opportunities in response to emerging customer requirements. Morris has more than 25 years of management, policy and executive experience. He was executive director for the Office of Space Commercialization, Department of Commerce, where he served as industry liaison within the executive branch to ensure the U.S. government maximized the use of space goods and services. He was also responsible for effective implementation of positioning, navigation and timing; commercial remote sensing and related space policies. Before his appointment, Morris was senior director of Washington operations for Orbital Sciences Corporation responsible for developing new space and defense strategic opportunities and held a number of program management positions. Early in his career, he served in the Air Force in a variety of acquisition and operational space assignments and is currently a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve. Morris received a master's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Rutgers University. He is also a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Program for senior executives in national and international security.
