Rochester, NY, July 2, 2008 — ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) announced today that the following six high school seniors have been awarded ITT scholarships for college study:
"We are proud to recognize these outstanding students, and to assist them in pursuing a higher education. We expect that they will follow in the footsteps of many past ITT scholarship winners who have gone on to promising careers in many fields," said Steve Loranger, chairman, president and chief executive officer of ITT. Under the program, the amount of each scholarship is based on the financial needs of the student recipient. Recipients can apply the funding toward an undergraduate degree at the college of their choice. Since 1980 when this program was established, 1,638 scholarships have been awarded. The program is administered by an independent organization called Scholarship and Recognition Programs, a division of the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, N.J. Winners were selected on their demonstrated academic achievement and promise, community service and leadership.
