25 sons and daughters of U.S.-based ITT employees were selected to receive the company scholarship this year. These scholarship winners, selected on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement and promise, community service and leadership, were chosen from a group of 170 applicants from the families of approximately 20,000 U.S.-based ITT employees.

"We are proud to recognize these outstanding students and to assist them in pursuing a higher education," said Steve Loranger, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ITT. "We expect that they will follow in the footsteps of many past ITT scholarship winners who have gone on to promising careers in many fields."

Under the program, the amount of each scholarship is based on the financial need of the student recipient planning to work toward an undergraduate degree at the college of his or her choice.

Since the program was established in 1980, some 1,620 ITT scholarships have been awarded. The program is administered by an independent organization called the Scholarship and Recognition Programs, a division of the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ.
