Kodak Global Imaging Closes Citipix Operations

Canadian Business Included in Overall Cost and Employment Reductions Detailed Today

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov.12 — Eastman Kodak Company said today that it will close its Citipix business, which provides aerial imagery to the Geographic Information Systems community. With principal operations in Quebec City, Canada, Citipix is a unit of Kodak Global Imaging Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kodak.

The closing follows Kodak's announcement last month that it will implement focused cost reductions beginning in the fourth quarter of 2002 and in 2003. The expected employment reduction of about 140 positions from the Citipix closing has been included in the total global workforce impact of 1,300 to 1,700 detailed in a separate announcement released this morning by Kodak.

The Citipix business, formed in March 2001, was impacted severely by dramatic spending decreases in the markets it served for these products, primarily telecommunications and utilities, along with the global economic downturn.

The business will stop order taking today while continuing to review current orders for fulfillment. The closing will not impact any other part of Kodak's business, including the Aerial and Industrial Imaging businesses. Kodak will help affected employees through outplacement assistance and other means.

Separately, GlobeXplorer, a leading technology company that distributes interactive aerial and satellite photos via the Internet, will continue to support existing Citipix Online Service customers.

Citipix is headquartered in the U.S., with operations in Quebec City, Canada, and offices in Beauport and Quebec City, Canada.
