Kodak Names Richard Cooke to Lead Research Systems

ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 20, 2002 — Eastman Kodak Company's Commercial and Government Systems unit today announced the appointment of Richard Cooke as president of Research Systems Inc. (RSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company. Cooke has more than 15 years of experience in the software engineering and technology industry. RSI is a worldwide provider of software packages for data analysis and visualization.

Cooke first joined RSI in 2000. Since that time he has been serving the company in the role of vice president, software engineering and information technology. Cooke replaces Michael Scally, who resigned his position as CEO in early January 2002.

"I look forward to solidifying the short- and long-term strategic direction for RSI with the existing executive team," said Cooke. "RSI's solid customer base, expanding market share and strong position as a provider of quality solutions are a great foundation to build on."

Prior to joining RSI, Cooke worked for Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Division in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was responsible for engineering and program management. Before that, Cooke was vice president, software engineering for STB Systems/3dfx Interactive in Dallas.

Cooke earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Texas.

About Eastman Kodak Company and infoimaging

Kodak is the leader in helping people take, share, enhance, preserve, print and enjoy pictures — for memories, for information, for entertainment. The company is a major participant in "infoimaging" — a $225 billion industry composed of devices (digital cameras and PDAs), infrastructure (online networks and delivery systems for images) and services & media (software, film and paper enabling people to access, analyze and print images). Kodak harnesses its technology, market reach and a host of industry partnerships to provide innovative products and services for customers who need the information-rich content that images contain. The company, with sales last year of $13.2 billion, is organized into four major businesses: Photography, providing consumers, professionals and cinematographers with digital and traditional products and services; Commercial Imaging, offering image capture, output and storage products and services to businesses and government; Components, delivering flat-panel displays, optics and sensors to original equipment manufacturers; and Health, supplying the healthcare industry with traditional and digital image capture and output products and services.
