Kodak Names Koester to Top Technical Operations Position In Commercial & Government Systems Business Unit

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 7, 2000 -- Eastman Kodak Company today announced that Frank J. Koester has joined Kodak and been named director of technical operations and vice president Commercial & Government Systems (C&GS).

Koester comes to Kodak from the Space Systems Group of Orbital Sciences Corporation (Orbital) where he served most recently as senior director of the engineering department. Orbital is a company specializing in the development of space and space related systems including, space delivery systems, remote sensing and commercial communications satellites and related systems integration and support.

As head of technical operations for C&GS, Koester will be responsible for product development through management of multiple integrated product teams, as well as management of the division's research and development initiatives. He is also responsible for the technical centers of excellence.

Koester brings to C&GS over twenty-one years experience related to the commercial space business including capturing new programs, on orbit delivery of satellite systems, and organizational development through the use of integrated product teams.

A native of North Wildwood, New Jersey, Koester has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and has an M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Koester will be relocating from Maryland to Rochester.

The Commercial & Government Systems Division of Kodak provides innovative image information solutions to government agencies and commercial customers. Examples include aerial imaging, digital imaging systems for commercial imaging satellites, and optical systems for land and space telescopes.
