NASA Public Service Medal Awarded To Three Kodak Employees For Chandra Contributions

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 16, 2000--NASA and the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL., have awarded NASA's Public Service Medal to three current and former Kodak employees for their exceptional contributions to NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory.

The Public Service Medal is awarded to non-government individuals for their contributions to the mission of NASA.

The Kodak individuals honored are from the company's Commercial & Government Systems unit and include: Jeff Wynn, Keith Havey and John Spina (retired).

Chandra has been widely acclaimed by scientists for the X-ray images obtained of the universe ever since the first images were received in August of 1999. Chandra uses the world's most powerful X-ray telescope built by Kodak.

Kodak's C&GS unit provides innovative image information solutions to government agencies and commercial customers. Examples include aerial imaging, digital imaging systems for satellites, and optical systems for land and space telescopes.
